What Are My Chances Of Getting Into These Schools?

What Are My Chances Of Getting Into These Schools?
I got a 1730 on my SATs, but if i add up the best scores since i took them twice, then it would be an 1800. Also, i took 3 SAT Subject Tests. I am not sure what my GPA is but out of my 100, i know that my high school average is a 95. I am 22 in my class out of about 500. I have ran varsity cross country for two years now. I have played JV bowling and track for two years, and JV tennis for one year and JV cross country for another year. Also i am most likely to be in Varsity tennis this year. I am now a senior, and i have taken one honors class, and i am taking another now, and i am going to take another next semester. I am part of Student Council. I am Colombia, and i was born there and lived there until i was 8. I am fluent in both English and Spanish. Also, i was a waiter once. The schools that i think that i have a good chance are: Ohio State, UConn, NortheasternU Some schools that i might have a small chance: BostonU, PennState(Main) And err, im aming very high here: NYU, UPenn I want to study business, and so what im wondering if you guys could help me out here by telling me if im aming wayy too high, or if my expections . Thanks [:

you could get into some NYU programs, not sure about Stern School of Business though due to your SAT scores. My SAT was 1830, I was 22 in my class of about 300, my GPA was around the same as yours, and I DID get into NYU (Tisch though, not Stern)....all the extra curriculars wont get you that much farther than your transcript would. write a killer essay and pray alot, the acceptance rate goes down every year. apply early D to increase your odds. Uconn is easy to get into....im from ct...everyone gets in....northeastern and BU not so much. I would think Uconn, Ohio state are your safety's, Boston and Northeastern are your goals, NYU and UPenn are reaches (not sure about UPenn tho, just assuming on that one) GOOD LUCK!

Well, I can't say too much for some of the other schools, but I am a UConn alumni and I applied to their business school as an incoming freshmen back during my 2001-2002 senior year of high school. Back when I applied, the SAT was out of 1600, so I'll give you my stats to see if you can get an idea of if you are along the same lines as I am. I also applied to Penn State and was accepted but chose UConn over Penn State. I had a 1060 SAT score (not that high) but I had a 3.9 GPA out of 4.0 and my entire senior class schedule in high school was all AP classes (except for gym/health class). I was in a lot of activities and clubs too, so I guess that helped. I would say that UConn (during my time of application) was considered easy to get into, but only if you're a CT resident. However, by the time I was a senior at UConn, lots of incoming freshmen that I met (CT residents) were telling me that UConn is NOT easy to get into anymore and how a lot of their friends had to enroll in community colleges because they were rejected. To help you put it into perspective a little more, I was a NJ resident so I got into both UConn and Penn State as an out-of-state student. Also, I've seen some idiots from my high school graduating class get accepted into BU, so you should be ok for that school if you keep your grades up. I hope you found this information somewhat useful and good luck in your future endeavors!
