The recipe sounds good or anything from your home country.

What a sweetie you are! I would observe what they like to do and get each of them something small if you can afford it. If not that, then maybe you can get them something that's really sentimental from the heart like a beautiful casserole dish where you can serve your recipe in that way it's theirs as a family and a meal brings them all together and they'll always have something to remember you by every time they use it.

It's the thought that counts. It would probably be more meaningful if it was something you made or put together you're self. Something to remember you by after you return home, I'm sure they'll miss you.
4 :
Make them some good colombian recipe!!!! they will appreciate it a lot probably even more than something else!!!

Americans ONLY... Tell me your opinion on this stereotype....?

Americans ONLY... Tell me your opinion on this stereotype....?
I am a sociology student from Colombia in South America but I am currently studying in Germany.... We're doing a project based on stereotypes of different nationalities and I had mine on Americans. I was given 5 stereotypes about Americans and you tell me if u identify with them as an American or not. 1. FAT: Supposedly Americans tend to be fatter than people from other countries, especially American women have the reputation the most. 2. A TENDENCY TO CLAIM TO BE FROM THEIR ANCESTORS COUNTRY INSTEAD OF BEING SIMPLY WHAT THEY REALLY ARE... AMERICANS: is this accurate? do u tell people you're french or german or mexican or african or whatever eventhough u were born in the US? 3. IGNORANT OF THE WORLD: how well informed are u as an American about the world beyond the US. 4. UGLY: lol do u consider urself ugly? 5. RACIST: always labeling people skin colours, black, white etc. do you do this?

we are the first 3 ...but ugly and racist i dont think so ...we have some of thee most hottest woman ....soooooooooo
2 :
1. no 2. Yes I'm of Irish, Spanish and Native American ancestory. 3. Strong no, im a international news junkie. 4. No. 5. No
3 :
1. Yes, we are one of the more fat countries, but there are a few in Europe ahead of us. Comes with being rich. 2. Yes, people here think it is amusing to say where they are "from" even though their family has been in the US for 200 years. 3. No. I think a lot of Americans know more about the world, then the world knows about Americans. It's just that we don't care. 4. No. I think it is actually the other way around, most of the world thinks that Americans are all glamorous. 5. Yes, more than many western countries.
4 :
1. Don't identify 2. If not a Native American then they are of european decent. 3. Well informed of what is going on in the world 4. Don't identify 5. What is color? Now you ask yourself this...am I showing myself to be a racist against true Native Americans or is this a really stupid way of asking racial undertoned questions?

1. According to logical statistics, there are far more Americans dealing with obesity than any other country, I'm not projecting all Americans as obese. Check out Nation Master.com Rank Countries Amount (top to bottom) #1 United States: 30.6% #2 Mexico: 24.2% #3 United Kingdom: 23% #4 Slovakia: 22.4% #5 Greece: 21.9% #6 Australia: 21.7% #7 New Zealand: 20.9% #8 Hungary: 18.8% #9 Luxembourg: 18.4% #10 Czech Republic: 2. I don't believe people claim to be from there ancestors' country "citizenship-wise", but blood-wise, they are embracing their roots and nothing wrong with that. America is made up of different nationalities, races, cultures, religions, etc. that similarize in that they share an American culture, unlike other countries who are not made up of a pot of different nationalities, races, cultures, religions, etc. 3. I agree that most Americans are drawn to watching "reality" TV shows rather than world news television. 4. the Western culture idolizes the physical rather than the interior, sad...but true. Now we wonder why so many young girls and even women in the US go anorexic, bullemic, etc. 5. I believe that segregation, that being discrimination and racism to be exact, will always exist in this country, it's part of how America became to be, in retrospect, the Native Americans should know.
6 :
All of the above except UGLY!!! Americans are the best looking fat, insecure, ignorant, racist people in the world.
7 :
1. We are individuals and some of us are fat, some are not. 2. Yes. I don't feel there is anything wrong with acknowledging one's heritage. Americans are a blend of people's and it is a positive thing to learn about our roots. 3. Again, some are ignorant; some are not. I think other countries should not lump all of us into a single category by claiming that we are all ignorant of the world. 4. No. I'm not ugly. It's just like in your nation and everywhere else in the world. Some people are more physically attractive than others. 5. I try to treat others in the way I would wish to be treated. There are some racists in our nation, that is undeniable, but I feel that the majority of people are not racist. It's just that the racists are more vocal than those who are not racist. And this is true for other nations as well; the troublemakers are often the loudest and meanest of people.
8 :
1. yes, cuz food is really cheap and easy to get here. and the cheap kind is usually the unhealthy kind. 2. yes we do that 3. im not, i always read the news online, but a lot of ppl are and its really annoying 4. nope but many do because of number 1 lol 5. im from california and ive noticed that ppl do label. but i have also noticed that coastal ppl (east and west coast) label but not negativley whearas middle ppl may have an opinion that may be negative. but not necessarily. it really depends on the person.
9 :
This list could be asked of anyone from any country, not just Americans. Here is my opinion: 1. FAT. A great many Americans do not have to work very hard and have a lot of liesure time, plus there is an abundance of junk food available everywhere you turn. It is probably accurate to say that obesity is a growing problem, with something like 2/3 of the population somewhat heavier than they need to be. 2. ANCESTORS' COUNTRY. I was born in the US but my great grandfather came from Germany. I NEVER refer to myself as German or even German-American. I was born here, I am an American, and if anyone has a problem with that then they can go to hell. 3. IGNORANT OF WORLD. This is true to some extent, but this is something that could apply to many peoples fropm many countries. It ghas been said that a large percentage of American 8th graders can't even find their own country on a globe. What I did for my kids when they were 4 or 5 was to paste up large world maps right next to their bed, so when they got into bed they have the whole world right there to look at. Now if I ask them where a certain country is they can find it immediately. UGLY. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. There are a lot of ugly peole all over. A study was done once by taking a large number of faces of all types and morphing the images together, really ugly ones included. Beauty is perceived as those faces which are most average and the most blended in between extremes, in other words you could almost say the most plain. Ugly is perceived as those which have some exaggerated characteristic, like big nose, big jaw or forehead, that sort of thing. So ugly is really just an extreme, and that's spread out all over the world. Yasser Arafat gets my vote as one of the ugliest people who ever lived. RACIST. This is a term which is way overused to the point of being meaningless. It is not racist at all to label someone as black or any other color, any more than it is racist to label someone a woman. Americans are no more racist than anyone else. The Japanese may be a lot more racist than Americans. I have a chicken with black feathers. I named her Blackie. Now I ask you, is that racist? For the most part the term 'racist' has no meaning at all, because it is the last argument used by people who cannot justify their own position on a subject.

1. Yeah... Lotta fat people here, but not all of us are. I am not aware of women tending to be more fat though. 2. I think the steriotype is half right. I think most of us embrase our heritage as well as being an American. 3. Personally, I don't care too much about news. I do keep informed on topics important to me though. So personally I would be ignorant of the world as well as the US. I can't speak for the majority of us on this issue though. 4. No, I don't consider myself ugly; I consider myself me. 5. I don't label people by skin colour usuly. If I do, it is no different than any other feature. i.e. hair length, eye colour, or tattoos.

6. prosper in the richest country in the world 7. Live in mostly beautiful surroundings and have everything one would want. 9. Have the best hospitals, and health care in the world 10. have the best schools and universities. 11. most people still have their teeth at 70. 12. less diseases than most countries 13. the right to worship our God of choice, for me its Jesus Christ i could go on. but, i've made my point. it seems most of your comments are negative, and I will not answer you!

Stereotypically speaking- Americans do have a weight problems-that doesn't seem to be going away with this generation of kids. We don't necessarily claim to be from that "country", but you do hear all too often I'm a quarter.......fill in the blanks. You see this most often with Native Americans and "African" Americans. I hate that, drop the first part-if you were born in Memphis, lived in Memphis and will die in Memphis TN, then you're an American despite the color of your epidermis. I agree that many Americans are ignorant of the world outside the ocean walls. It is more unfortunate when they have the mentality of, "Well, if they don't like it then get a better army." Or, "Don't like it, don't move here and stay out". #4??? I live in Germany, and I think most Americans are thought of as relatively good looking (movie stars and such). I heard one woman say that we make beautiful babies, lol. 5. I agree-but, I think now a days racism exist more in those whose pigment is not Caucasian. There are a group of people who grow up with this separatist mentality, and it is unfortunate.
13 :
what kind of college do you go to? I bet you participate in the Special Olympics also. I may be a racist American but I am not stupid....You are tellin lies Gringo!!!
14 :
1). Personally I'm not fat but yes, in general I think America is. 2). Nope, I simply say American. 3). While I am by no means an expert, I think I am pretty informed about the rest of the world. 4). I don't think I am ugly, but you know what they say; Beauty is in the eye of the beholder...lol 5). No I'm not racist.
15 :
1. no. i'm 115 lbs. and 5'4" 2. no 3. hmmm... i've been to europe, asia, latin america and australia. ..... reads awful lots of new york times and financial times. 4. i'm actually pretty hot. 5. i might be a little racist to the person who takes my delivery when i have to yell my order multiple multiple times on the phone.
16 :
The only one that has some validity is #1. There is an obesity epidemic in this country but it doesn't just affect women, it affects all Americans. The other four are just misleading stereotypes.Happy New Year. 2D
17 :
I don't agree with any of those, but considering you're going to school in Germany, from the news media that I've seen in Germany and what they think of Americans and their attributes, I'd say you're well on your way to an A+.

Are you hearing the song right? Also, what is the title of the song?
2 :
Since it's referencing space and the moon, perhaps it is meant to be "green beings" and "beings," as in aliens?
3 :
The singer says he's going mad, that he's insane, so I think he's singing things that don't make sense or that are like hallucinations.

Is it really important that my whole name on my passport matches my name on my social security card?

Is it really important that my whole name on my passport matches my name on my social security card?
I am an international student from Colombia on a F1 visa in Sacramento, CA. I have a first name, two middle names and two last names (hispanic, go figure) that are not hyphenated. My name is Paulo Cesar de Jesus Morales Castillo When I got my social security card, It only shows my first and last name, which is Paulo Morales. Also, my driver's license shows only my first name and last name too. Is there any problem if my name in my social security card or driver's license doesn't fully match my name on my passport???? or should I change them? If so, how can I make two not hyphenated last names into one single last name? Thanks!

yes

I don't think it's necessary to include those because they are middle names and also you have other documents with just first and last name, so I think you should be ok.
