Is the best part of a GOP House, that the DREAM Development, Relief & Ed for Alien Minors ACT will never pass?
I think the best part of the GOP retaking the House is that for at LEAST two more years none of my taxpaying dollars will be going toward providing government financial assistance for illegals to go to college in America. Maybe w/o college money they just might deport themselves! The Development, Relief and Education for Alien Minors Act would pave a path to citizenship for undocumented students who arrived in the United States as minors, by giving them access to higher education and the ability to serve in the military. The bill has been introduced numerous times without success. Last week it stalled again, falling four votes short of a motion that would have allowed Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV) to introduce it as part of a defense allocation bill. Yessica Martinez, 17, an undocumented student who arrived from Medellin, Colombia when she was 10, underwent an emotional rollercoaster during last week’s legislative battle. For three years, she has been a Dream Act activist at Francis Lewis High School in Queens, where she is an honor student. What difference does it make who gets educated if that education makes the country better? We don't want honor students in this country to continue to be educated? Damn, that's stupid. You're obviously an irrational xenophobic bigot.
