I am studying in Australia as international student, I am from Colombia. My Australian visa expires in february 2011, can I apply for the french visa from here? I want to visit my girlfriend (she is from france), She already sent me the form from the town hall, and I have like 5000 AUD for my trip, I want to go for 1 month. is it possible to get the visa applying from Australia? I forgot to mention, my current Australian visa is electronic. So is not stamped in my passport.

Answer: Under Schengen Regulation, your Australian visa must be endorsed on your actual passport. However, if your residency sticker is on an expired passport, you may apply for your visa as long as you produce both passports. From the Australian visa website: [thanks to Ozmaniac] Visa label You will not have a visa label inserted in your passport if you lodged your application online.
