Does buying pot send money to Mexico or Colombia and does it cause people in those countries to be murdered?
There were thousands of killings of innocent people in Colombia 10 years ago due to the drug trade. America is the largest consumer of south American illegal Drugs. Now the murder rate in Mexico is going thru the roof in drug wars and the illegal drug trade is closer to the USA than it was before. So the real question is.. Can we apply legal punishement to college students for funding the Drug/Murder trade?

Both. And yes, we should be punishing people more for drug possession/use. But society these days is so dam confused, uncaring, high, and ignorant. For god sakes, Lady GaGa was found on coke, and she said in a report that she does pot and she is proud of it. Why is she not in jail? Why in god's name is Charlie Sheen not in jail? Hell, with all the drugs he bought the traders probably have a summer home.

Most of the marijuana found in the United States is grown in the United States and all drugs should simply be decriminalized taxed a regulated like tobacco and alcohol all prohibition does is create criminal enterprises if the drug is legal and yields no profit their is no reason to kill each other over it. Why is it that its harder for kids to get cigarettes and alcohol than it is heroin crack pot meth ect because its controlled and regulated. I mean really its such a simple logical look the the prohibition of alcohol and the Violence and criminal empires it created its how many drug cartels were their that imported narcotics into the united states from the 1800s-1930s ? And at the person saying we need harsher punishments for drugs smuggling drugs in most of other country's that bring in coke and heroin punish it with the death penalty obviously that doesn't work you know because it perfect logic that someone with an illegal plant should spend more time in prison than someone who rapes children

Yes, they should be responsible. However, I believe the legalization of these drugs internationally would be even better, sponsored by the government or approved and legalized vendors. I am Colombian, and drugs have ruined by country. However, if they don't legalize, then they must fight.

Dude you got a very strong argument there. Sadly it is the true the major consumers here in USA are idnereeclty responsible for the things going on down there and the things going on down there are very ugly. Consumers here. Producers there. Buyers here Drug lords there. Drug lords get kill violence and destruction of communities. This drug bussiness creates jobs and for some you got two choices immigrate illegally (chances of getting caught or die and problems with the goverment) to USA or become a drug dealer (average life when you become one 4 years) leaving a family wife widowed and kids with no father figure leave alone for some years mom dies kids grow to repeat the same cycle immigrate or become a drug leader some do neither grow up turn to be crazy and become alcoholic and drug addcits. The Mexican social fabric gets disrupted and does not stop more grief to a nation already full open wounds and if the Mexican literature and writer Octavio Paz is correct Mexicanos siguen siendo hijos de la chingada Mexican are and will be sons of the motherf*** bitch idk if that translates to that ... for not seens they dreams realized and achivied ...
